Bowling for Gamesoup, or My Inability to Make a Good Pun

So I know I don't have more than like three readers at present, but I thought it might be work mentioning Gamesoup anyway. I found out about it a few days ago and, after having a look around, I was rather impressed. This blog is young and doesn't have much content, but it looks like Gamesoup embodies the kind of blog I'm aiming for. So anyone who might happen to read this should go have a look, ne?

[review] Kid Icarus: Uprising - I LOVE YOU, HOT SPRING!

I actually wasn't really planning on getting this game at first, because the only exposure I'd ever had to Kid Icarus was Pit's playability in Brawl. At the same time, though, the game did look pretty interesting when I watched the E3 preview. Er, at least, I think it was E3. My memory isn't the best.

Anyway, I had some extra cash so I decided to go ahead and pre-order it. I'll be honest and say that a big reason why I wanted it was because all my friends were getting it and I have neurotic issues with feeling left out of... anything. Same reason I just had to have Pokemon White as soon as possible. Thankfully, I didn't regret my purchase at all. Uprising is probably my favorite 3DS game so far for a number of reasons. I'm actually kind of surprised at how much heart was put into it.

Sony Smash Bros.

So apparently Sony thought it would be a good idea to create their own fighting game, featuring an ensemble of first-party characters. Problem is, the entire thing looks almost exactly like Super Smash Bros. in just about every way imaginable. While I do think that just means the game's going to turn out to be pretty fun, I can't help but roll my eyes at how blatantly lifted it is.
