I'm a real sucker for things like this. I was excited as hell when I first learned about Hyrule Historia, for example. I just really love art and reference books. Apparently The History of Sonic was made by a French publishing company called Pix'n Love, and it seems that there were some concerns that the book would never be released in English. Well, according to The Sonic Stadium, Pix'n Love recently laid those fears to rest!
I'm definitely going to order myself a copy as soon as I get the chance. I don't really collect that much merchandise for the series I like, but now's a good a time as any to start!
That is pretty cool - I've never been a hardcore Sonic fan (loved the first couple of Sega Genesis entries but haven't really played it much since) - but my younger two kids loved all things Sonic for years. They would probably eat something like that up. Cool find - I hadn't heard of that before.
